Cool Stopping Smoking

Well yesterday I visited the Nurse at the docs surgery for one of those "stop smoking" consultations and she gave me some patches.

DAY ONE:

As soon as I got up this morning I raced downstairs to "grab me patch" and stick it on my arm

Hubby and kids think I will fail again but hey...even if I do I can try again next month

It wasn't too bad today, kept thinking..shoulda done this sooner....it's soooooo easy

By 4 pm i was just one will satisfy me..but NO NO NO..i resisted and went shopping instead and bought plenty of fruit and packets of mints!

well its 10.30ish now and i STILL haven't cracked ..so 1st day nearly over...wonder if it will get any easier tomorrow?!?!?!

Good luck Lozzie with giving up smoking. I gave up 14 months ago with the help of patches and the pretend ciggie (which I still have). There have been days when I thought I would give in and buy a packet but we are both on the pension so resisted the urge. Mind you I dont feel guilty when I buy certs for my family tree. Dont worry if you fall by the wayside just try again when you are ready. That's the main thing YOU have to want to give up. My son bet me £50 I would not last 6 months without one needless to say he has not paid up yet.
GOOD LUCK

best wishes
Maggie

Good Luck Loz on giving up smoking. Just think you will be able to breathe better, here's me that still smokes

I wonder how trade will be for cafes and pubs? When I go out shopping I often go into a cafe for a cuppa and have a cigarette. Only about 27 days left until the smoking ban is enforced.

Good luck Lozz. I tried miserably and failed..........too much stress going on...........lol (that's my excuse anyway)

Pauline............like you I often pop in a cafe for a coffee and a fag if I've been out........after July........well I shall just come straight home.-least so far they haven't dictated what we do or dont do at home.
