VAUGHN
The boy's name Vaughn is pronounced von. It is of Welsh origin, and its meaning is "little." First used as a given name in the early 20th century. See also Von. There is a variant form for Vaughn: Vaughan.

VIOLET
Violet (Latin) "Purple." One of the earliest flower names, first used in the 1830s. Shakespeare used the Latin form Viola for the enterprising heroine in "Twelfth Night." Ballerina Violette Verdy.
