Hi Wendy,
Personally i dont know what a gedcom is but i do know how to use one lol.
I suppose i should read a little about it
Here is a link to explain what it is.
www.cyndislist.com/gedcom.htm
One thing i will say is if you have your tree on Genesreunited it will not work if you upload it to this site, it will end up all jumbled up so if it is on the then i would suggest adding it manually to this site.
Hope that helps?
Kelly
Thanks for the reply Kelly, think I will leave it until the weekend when I have time to read and figure it out!
regards
Wendy
Having joined today I decided to upload my tree and guess what? Yes it was in the Genes Reunited format and did not work. But I have now found a solution via http://gw.geneanet.org/ - I uploaded my Genes Reunited gedcom file to Genanet as I have done in the past. I then saved a gedcom file from that site and then uploaded that file to this site and it worked.![]()

Thanks Wyvern,
I've just transfered 1, 400 names by hand to a tree makerand then added it to the treemaker by gedcom. This is only a fraction of my tree so I've still a long way to go
. Please don't tell me you know how I could have merged 3 seperate gedcoms or added cousins that married .
By doing this I have been able to put right some silly mistakes like wrong gender, and surname and Christian names round the wrong way. I'm sure this information will be a lot of help to others.
