    Default Log in (no option)

When i access A. Aid i do not get an option to log on, this is hidden by the green and white header bar. I have to click on reply to post or any members name which will then take me to the log in box. Also i have elected for the life earth skin but this only happens after i log in after going through the above...logging off will revert back to original... This is not a big deal as i've had it from day one...Is this normal...thanks Crocker..

I don't think it's normal Crocker. I never log off! Give Brian a shout and perhaps he can fix it for you.

I have switched mine over to the orange/green option and it says log out on the BROWN and orange bar at the top on right. Have you not got this brown/orange bar?

Crocker I don't log out. I stay logged in but I have added it to my Favourites and enter AA from there. I am also using Life Earth and it stays logged in. Do you have the logged in link saved to your favourites. I created a folder for forums and put all my links to forums in there and just open from there. I am logged into them all the time that way.

Thanks all but it makes no difference as to what i do. I have my favorites on my screen so i can access any site at one click, this being near the top.. I have also tried just going through my browser Google Chrome. Its not possible for me to stay logged in, i have tried leaving the site as such but on return the opening page for AA reverts back to original. I then scroll down to the bottom to find i am still logged in under active users, but in reality i'm not logged in as i have to go through post one all over again. I need to do this so i can remove my user name from the list..Thinking about it, it seems as though i am a guest and not a member..Gosh wish i had kept quiet now.
The opening page for the site is always the same, no matter what i do. The log in box is there but immediatly covered by the green and white header, i can just see the edges behind. As i have opted for the easier on the eye life earth colours this skin should not even show..As i said it just means a couple of extra clicks to get to log in to my favorite site so its no big deal....Thanks again..

I find I am having the same problem as you Crocker. I like to keep AA open all the time and open other tabs to browse other sites, but on return I have to log in again. I thought perhaps I was doing something wrong. I am also using the Life/Earth as it is easier on the eyes.

    Hi
When you login, do you click 'Remember me' on the log in screen? If you do, then each time you load AA fromn your favourites, it should take you straight in. The 'Remember Me' box is below your Password on the login screen, and needs to be ticked before you click the Log in button.
If you are clicking the Remember me button when you log in, do you log out each time you leave AncestryAid? There is no need to do this if you are using a computer at home; just close the page. However if you are using a computer in a public place or office, then you should log out. If the problem persists, perhaps you could send me a pm, and I will see if there are other reasons it is locking you out.

I do use the remember me, but the problem is each time I leave the page inactive it logs me out and the vbulletin message appears for me to log in again. I do log out, because I use the computer in the office at times, so prefer to do so. Not a big problem just a niggly one.
