Same ol story. Being Christmas certain big ancestor search sites are offering free trials as per usual. Worth reading the small print warning. Credit card details are required and if not canceled in time full subscription charges will be taken..Sorry, bad form in my view, always suspicious as to this type of behavior.....gif "^)")
Yes it is all too easy to be caught out like that. I agree with what you are saying Always read the small print before agreeing to anything.

Searching for Twizell, Brown & Storey from Northumberland. Kelly & Kinsella from Ireland, Parkinson from Lincolnshire. Mellor from Derbyshire and Jackson from Warwickshire.
I found that out when I bought Family Tree Maker. Supposedly free trial subscription with it. Unfortunately for them I can't take up any of these offers as I don't have a Credit Card. So they won't catch me.
