Hi Countrymouse- exact matches are often found by the researchers here on this site. Census information gives a pretty good idea where your relations were and narrow down the searching fields for the searchers. The best thing to do is to post your query with what you know so far ie names dates places and the type of information you require and you then may may get back, births, mariages, or deaths as appropriate or census information or web details where greater details may be found . Information that is 1920 onwards is sent by private message as the the people could still be alive and unfortunately we can only do census up to 1901 for data protection reasons. I hope this helps you and we look forward to your request.

Really it was a general query as i thought we got some indication on our tree if there was a match here.
With places of birth i think the difficulty is that they can vary from census to census and then some people use the registration district which may be different again. Using the census dates of birth vary too.
Iwas just thinking that you would need some flexibility in those things to find a match.
Please don't anyone think this is in any way a criticism because it certainly is not.
I have just had my cast off my broken wrist and not feeling as active as i had hoped, so pondering on things.
Also the flippin snow is back and i have not done my shopping. grrrr
Hi Countrymouse - I am so sorry you have broken you wrist and hope it gets better soon- and appreciate typing is then difficult. The weather doesnt help I agree. I forgot to say the threads are checked by moderators who are also researchers from all over the world; and so we all try and ensure you get the right answers from whatever source they come from. At the end of the day you will also get the official volume , page type information that goes along with our research that will enable you get actual certificates that are post 1837 and before that it is down to parish records , bishops records, poor records , war records etc. I hope this helps you. Thanks, typing left handed has kept me sane!
Hi countrymouse,
We do not have the sort of match system on AA that you get on some of the large commercial sites, however if you go to Search Our Records in the blue navigation bar at the top of the page and type in the details of the person you are interested in it will show you any matches in the records we have on site, eg, various 1841 census records, BMD records added by members and any matches in members family trees onsite, if you find a match in another member's tree you can then contact that member to share information.
I hope that helps.
