When you view Pedigree View you are looking at the Pedigree of one person, i.e yourself. This will show your parents, grandparents.If you click the details button under your name this will show your wife/husband and any children(provided you have entered this information) if you then click on one of the names in the drop down box you will be able to view the details of that person and the Pedigree of that person, parents, grandparents etc.
