Hi all,

Our forum structure has been like this for a while i.e Help forum Offer Help forum etc etc.
Some of you may think there is a better way in which to do the following:

Edit the layout of the forums.
Remove forums that are not needed.
Add forums that are not used.
Combine some current forums.

You get the idea. If anyone has some suggestions on ways to improve the forums then please post them here (that goes for staff also). I really want to try and make AA better for everyone and if the ideas come from all of you then we can't go wrong.

Remove old posts that have no replies
Make new posts and threads top of the list with different colour
Maybe put gamesroom on toolbar where it says forums , awards, family tree , etc

Would it be possible to add a link to the Guide To Family History onto the Forum page, at the moment it is on the Home page and probably rarely gets read.

Can we have a running daily post that keeps the 'new posts' on board for say 24 hours...at the present i have to log out and then back in to find them ....

Games room,'hived' off to its own area.... yes I like, but not as a feature of the site which is genealogical and FH based, I hate it in a morning when i have to trawl thro' the new posts on it....I do want to paly games...but other things come first

Up date all the pin / stickies etc and make them more visible....include 1911 census with FMP, some members do not realise same company!

Archive old posts into an Archive area? A date would need to be agreed upon

Try to encourage members to put their county/ area /country on their ID profile,saves feeling a fool when you ask them to search a RO to find they are other side of the world

You must feel dizzy2[1]..gifsometimes trying to manage all the site maintenance, design, and requests. Thank you for all your efforts and for not eliminating the games.

I learn more each day and marvel at the ingenuity and resourcefulness of all the members!
