Im no computer whiz so im not sure i am much good at making site suggestions. If this is in the wrong pIace pIease put it where it shouId be.

I Iike the coIours- the games we piay and can get round the site pretty easy. We have the micrososft features for editing which is good. I agree the Iog in is a pain but to get safety I understand why. I havnt got into the famIy tree bit yet I guess theres room to save your own members to see if they Iink up with others. Are there bIank tree sheets to print off - I find them great for recording research?

I guess we can aII do our bit for advertising - if someone coud write say enough for a post card that we couId cut and paste - then we coud put them on post cards for shops post offices and the Iike and have a unified approach. We couId aIso have a unified aproach to put on the end of our own e - maiIs that we send to anyone - ie senior member Ancestry Aid Iink - www etc .

What about deveIopment points for researchers or exams and these shown on the persons Iinks aIong with the photos and reseach history - perhaps who theyve heIped before - perhaps someone has aIready said these so sorry if they have - but its ideas that are coming to me as Im typing - I think thats aII for now - hope it gives food for thought.

Thank you for that. I love the "points for helping" idea. That HAS to be something that we add as a feature to AA.

What does everyone else think about this?

I think the points for helping idea is good and also putting something on our own e-mails.
Sorry I can't come up with anything original in ideas I'm a bit slow when it comes to computers!

Thank you for your feedback but I wish to add to this. Firstly, I am well aware of geographical state of America and Canada. However, I chose to "lump" these boards together in order to reduce the number of forums we have on AA. We already have to do a lot of scrolling in order to reach the end of the forums. Because our main target is Great Britain (i.e only a small percentage of our users are researching the US and Canada) we thought it best to concentrate on those areas and combine the two above mentioned.

The games room has been going since 2004. You are right, it is not needed on AA but it does provide a small break when members need it. You and those you spoke to do not have to go in if you do not wish to. I understand that you think it is unpopular but I would say that 103,299 posts is quite a lot for an unpopular board.

I hope you can understand my reasoning with my answers. Again, I thank you for your feedback and welcome more of it if there is anything else on your mind.

P.S Very glad you like the new style. You are right, it is alot better on the eyes.

I agree kptz. Its a welcome break from researching and a friendly place for members to have a little fun ! Maybe its not an inportant factor to geneology but should be down to choice , if you like it enter , if not dont , its not there to offend anyone . Jon your doing a brilliant job , its looking great , keep it up .
