    Thumbs up Simplicity

Just to get the ball rolling. My first thought when it comes to revamping AA has to be simplicity.
I wish to make the site as simple and as user friendly as I possibly can.

    Any other thoughts on this?

I agree Hazel. The password system on vBulletin software can be tricky. I will look into a more simple method with regards to passwords.

My suggestion to promote AA is to advertise..I am off to the Library today to see about putting something up on their free message board for advertising this great site of ours.. Maybe other members might be able to help out by visiting their local Library and see if they can also do the same.. Also advertising AA in local free newspapers..We have them here in Australia so I,m sure they must have them in the UK..By advertising AA this is sure to increase member numbers.

I agree , advertising the new revamped site is a must ! New members are always welcome to improve their family history and this is the best site with fantastic researchers as ive found out for myself !
So advertise where most people go for their researching, libraries, local studies libraries etc. If its worth advertising its worth doing well .

I agree Marion, lots of people just dont know about Ancestryaid,I will visit our local library and see if they have a message board,There are always lots of Family Tree seekers in the reference room,I am sure they would be interested in knowing about the site.

And yes...this having to sign in all the time, gets on my pip !!!!

Other ways to advertise are links on other sites. Also, using the Facebook like and share buttons found in the posts and threads. If you click them a link is placed on facebook, account required obviously.

Lincs lady, have you tried logging in and clicking the remember me button too? Also, try clearing your cookies and your cache. That will probably sort the problem out fir you.
Let me know if it works.

    Regards

Hi all I agree that thiis is the best website for Family Historians and I would like to suggest advertising through the Twitter website. Sorry it's only a small suggestion
but I will try and think of other ways of revamping by tomorrow.

    Hi Pauline,

I could add a "Tweet This" button to the posts like I have with the Facebook share. What do you think?
