    Thumbs down

    Hi all,

I have had alot of members saying that they are not very happy with the new forum software we are using here at AA. As we have always listened to our members I am now giving you all the option to make a final choice on the software we use.

You will see I have added a pole to this post. If you would prefere to go back to the old forum then please vote above. If the majority chooses the old way we did things then I will revert the forum back to how we used to have it. Please vote! It is only a click and your opinion matters to us.

Please feel free to post your comments also.

    Kind regards

    Hi Jon,

Are we talking about the new version of Vbulletin which we tried before christmas ? or the old version which we used to use.

Good question Don. To remain secure we would need the new vBulletin version (I could work on it to look like the older one) but I could also revert to the older one if people really wanted to but because that will soon not be supported by vBulletin we could leave ourselves open to security problems.

    Thanks Jon,

I asked because I know you had a lot of problems with the new Vbulletin software.

Personally I am happy with this new software now I have got used to it, I know you still have work to do on it but I am sure once you find the time things will be fine.

    Hi Jon,

In case you had forgotten, you wrote this about the vBulletin version :-
    Hi guys,

Have now run the new forum software for a few days it is now clear that there are too many errors and that the software does not meet our requirements anymore.

Sorry Jon I am not a fan of this new software at all. I really don't find this one to be very user friendly. I much prefered the option of quick reply at the bottom of the page. And I used to be able to roll my mouse over a thread and get the beginning of the thread to see if I wanted to read the full post, now I can't it just says View Post and I cannot find anywhere in My Settings to get it to show the start of a thread.

If this one could be fixed I would probably be happier with it. The colours are fine I don't have a problem with that.

I'm sorry, Jon, to vote for a return to the old version, especially as you've worked so hard on his one, but you did ask. I'm afraid I still find it a bit awkward to use, and would much prefer a return to the old software. But I do love the new colours, though.
