I have now installed a new chat facility for Ancestry Aid. If you look at the bottom of the page you will see a bar going across the bottom.



On the right you will see "Who's Online" followed by the number of members available to chat. If you click that a popup will show the members. Simply click on their name to chat to them. Type in the text you wish to send and press the ENTER button on you keyboard to send the message.



Next to the "Who's Online" you will see a small wheel/cog. Here are your options. Click it to see the popup containing the options to change your availability settings.



On the left of the bar you will see a small blue arrow icon. Click this to see what chat rooms are currently active or click the "Create your own chatroom" to start a new chatroom.



Next to that is a small icon in which you can change the look of the bottom bar.



I hope you like the system. The Facebook users amongst you will see that it is very much like theirs. I will leave the chat facility open to all members at the moment. If the demand on our servers get too high then I will change that so that only donators to Ancestry Aid can use it. This will be because the chat uses alot of bandwidth which I have to then pay for.
