Thread: Welcome Back !!!

Hello and welcome back !!



I understand that the site closed on Thursday when it was due to close on Friday. For this I am very sorry but a critical security update needed to be made. So, at the same time I decided to make the changes too.

Having worked through the night I believe that I have now made the changes needed.



Ancestry Aid is now a FREE TO USE site !!



There was alot of tweeks that were required and this increases the possibility that I may have missed something. I ask you all to please reply to this post if you happen to find something that I have missed. Thank you.



Other changes that have been made:

1. The new Vital Records system is now up and running. The database transfere was flawless. NO information was lost.
   
2. The new Surnames system is also now up and running. Again there were no problems with the database transfere.
   
3. It is now easier to spot new posts within the forums. Posts with a RED arrow are new posts, a GREY arrow means no new posts.
   
   
   
4. A few visual edits have been made to the forums. These are quite minor and you may notice them as you use the forum.

Overall, as promised, there have been NO big changes to the site. Most of the changes I made were to the "behind the scenes" code. Like forum permissions, usergroup moves and slight code edits to other scripts within the site.
