Question AA family tree

went to upload my gedcom file to AA family tree, but can only upload 8mb, my tree as it stands is 982mb.
Is there any way around this or do I have to split my tree, & do multiple uploads?
If its the second option I aint looking forward to sorting that out.

Hi Ken,

Jon here using Kelly's account.

982MB !! Are you sure about that? It seems way too big for a text document (GEDCOM file). How many records are contained within it??

If this is the case then there is no way we can upload such a large file to the tree maker. It is way to big. You would need to create seperate tree's (max 4) and add what you can.

I just cant see your GEDCOM file being that large. A text file of that size would contain 100's of thousands of records, if not a few million. I recommend that you re-check the file size.

Kindest regards

Jon

Hi Ken,

One of mine went on ok with 1.69 MB (1,773,568 bytes) and just under 3,000 names. That one was a bit bigger before a removed some as well.

Hi Mand,

It's the notes and sources that take up the most memory.
