Exclamation Search System Live

Hi all,

I have now launched the new AA Search system. The link can be found at the top of every page entitled "Search Our Records".

Whats new with the search system:
  • One convenient form searches ALL of the databases contained in Ancestry Aid.
  • Your search will return results from ALL of our databases on ONE results page. This page contains "tabs" for each database and side links for each database table (i.e. Tab = 1841 Census Databases. Side Links = 1841 London, 1841 Norfolk, 1841 Hampshire).
  • Within your search results you may see the "Hot Match" image. This means that your record has a possible match in one of our members family trees. Click this image to send the tree owner a message regarding the record.
  • Above all, the system is completely contained. Everything can be searched from one easy place.
The "Hot Match" image looks like this:

We do hope you like the new system and find it as convenient as we have hoped.

Kind regards.

I need some help please. I tried the search system but encountered a problem. On the list of deaths , I clicked on full details for Eliza Fellows and the record that came up showed the death details as birth - I would appreciate some advice.
Thanks.

Hi Val If I use the normal bmd search button it brings up the death of
Eliza Bessie Fellows and no births, but on the new
search records brings 3 1841 census ..

hi Val,

On the right side you will see the 3 links for births, deaths and marriages. Make sure you have clicked one of those to get those specific records.

No problem at all Val, dont worry.

Just tested it myself and got the death record fine. here are just some of the details:

First Name : Eliza Informants Address:
Last Name : Fellows Informants Name: Date of Birth : 23/10/1925 Record Source: Death Notice. Place of Birth : New Cemetery, Grahamstown, Eastern Province, South Africa. Additional Information: Eliza Bessie was born in Saint James, Southampton, Hampshire, England. Frederick Connock predeceased her. Cause of Death :
Owners Site Username : Val

That is the death record, not birth.

Are you getting mixed up because it has Place Of Birth in the record?

Hi Jon, I hope my previous attempt at this message hasn't reached the list I somehow lost it. Perhaps you are right and I am confused but would you please explain why that record reflects the Date Of Birth as 23.10.1925 that is her date ofdeath and Place of Birth: New Cemetery , that's where she was buried. Perhaps I am not reading this correctly. I am sorry to be a nuisance but I would like to understand. Thanks.

OOPS !!!

Glad you pointed that out.

I have edited that on the system. It WAS supposed to read Date Of Death not Date Of Birth. Same for place too.

Thanks Val, I have made the changes now.
