Thumbs up AA Awards

I was recently asked a question: "What is the point of AA's Award system?"

The AA Awards are basically just a bit of fun, but also, they are given to members to let them know that all their hard work, posts, and the help they give to others do not go un-noticed by Ancestry Aid.

There is nothing worse than a website that has members put alot of work in but get no acknowledgement from the actual site. Personally, I think that is quite rude of the site to do so.

Some people may think that the Awards is a silly idea but I have to dissagree. One, it shows the member that we DO notice what they do for the site. Two, it is better than posting a thank you post on the board for it just to get lost within all the other posts and Three, every other member can see that that particular member has got the awards at all times.

So, thats the reason we have them. Hope that explains it.

Regards

I agree with nanna. It's a good idea to award members with cyber trophies for their committment to Ancestry.
Now here's a question

When do members get a knighthood?

Well I think it's a great idea. Being new to the site I did wonder what the awards were for, and now I know. Brill!

Hi Pam,

Another sort of award you may be missing is by your user name. You joined the site with no status. You then became a member after your first post. You have now progressed to regular member. Your next target is committed member - good luck.
