Personally I would be quite happy to allow other users to view my considerable number of family History records which are currently held on Ancestry . Co. The ability to contact other searchers and their records is invaluable.
All the best.

Glad to hear you are interested in the project and willing to help.

All other issues notwithstanding, I believe that what you are purposing to do is simply the right thing to do.

It is not right to have to pay to find out who the distant members of your own family were from records that are freely available, if you were able to go to the office to look at them.

I also believe that it is not right for others to profiteer from your efforts, or the desire of others to find you. These are not just documents, but lives. It's like having your personal history held hostage.

I am new to family tree research, and I it is confusing enough to go at it without having to go to so many different sites to find things out, and then, once you get there, and think you may have found something, find out you will have to pay just to know if it is something after all.

I have recieved much wonderful help from others on your site. You have set forth on the right foot of being of help and service to others, and your members carry that on. I believe that if you continue in this vein, you will be abundantly rewarded for your efforts on all levels.

Thumbs up Re: Vital Records

Hi -yes I agree I am all in favour of re-introducing vital records, and would be prepared to help accordingly. So many of these sites are pay per view and very often it is not the ancestor that you are looking for after all!! not all these sites have been fully transcribed anyway and there can often be large gaps in the records. Please go ahead with these records I think we often pay far too much in the search for our ancestors. It can indeed be a very expensive hobby.

pejay looking for Brown, Twizell, Storey, & Fenwick from Northumberland. Parkinson from Lincolnshire & Kelly, Kinsella & Mcguire from Ireland

Cool Re: Vital Records

I am watching for details on the new developments to the site, and, yes I would certainly be using it, and visiting more often, I did sign up to Friends Reunited, trouble was, after paying a joining fee, to look at anything, like censors list, you need to buy credits, so, I didn't renew my subscription, I know that on Gen' reasearch sometimes it is neccesary to cough up cash, but I felt that FU, wasn't worth it, more reason to stick with you guys.

Excellent idea!

I am always intrigued by witnesses to marriages...and wonder how many marriages my ancestors were witness to. There is always a slim chance that they were a witness to someones grandparents on here....but It's a fact that couldnt be found out without a useful database like this. Does that make sense?!

I have quite a few certificates to upload and also Parish Records that I have from the archives.

Keep up the good work Jon
