Exclamation Descriptive Genealogy Threads

Hi all,

When you post a message on the AA boards be as descriptive as you can in the title of your thread whilst also trying to keep it short.

Thread titles such as "Need Help" or "Can You Help" are not really going to get you anywhere as they dont catch the eye of other members or search engines.

An example is that if I was looking for a "Smith born in 1845" and I saw a thread titled "Trying To Find Smith 1845" I would immediately look into that thread but if the same thread was titled "need help" I would probably miss it. The same goes for search engines. Your thread will get noticed more by "non" members of Ancestry Aid who are seaching on search engines, if they see a good thread title then they will no doubt enter the site to take a look.

This would also help Ancestry Aid as more people would join the site. The ripple effect would be more members, more information resulting in more successes for our members.

Hope that helps you.
