Looking for details of John Gifford's daughter. John as born Co Antrim around 1815. Died in PLaceville El Dorado County 1860. He first was in Alton Illinois then went to California around 1850. The gold rush had started in 1848.



His daughter Mary Anne married Jacob Frederick Hinberry/ Hanberry in 1853. Jacob was a German immigrant and arrived with his parents and 6 other siblings in St Louis Missouri around 1831.



The name hinberry/Hanberry does not sound German so it may be an incorrect spelling
