I have found the following deffinitions:-
CLICKER (1) servant of a salesman who stood at the door to invite customer
CLICKER (2) one who received the matter in the galley from the compositors &
made it ready for printing
CLICKER (3) makes eyelet holes in boots using a machine which made a clicking
noise
CLICKER (4) cut out leather and allocated it to the workmen
