Hello all,
I am very pleased to find this site, as its not easy to research family history in England from Australia, particularly if you are a pensioner.

I love your country, and have always, even as a small child, had an affinity to England......even though my ancestors came out very early in Australia's history! There is a familiarity that I can actually feel when watching anything on Foxtel about the English country side......very strange, must be ancestoral memory working

After long and frustrated searches, I have finally tracked my ancestors to the Ripon area, and also Forcett in Yorkshire. I am trying to find out anything I can on the Lakeland and Gordon Families from this area, particularly around the 18th century before 1799.
The names I have are:
Thomas Lakeland, who married Margaret Grey, and their children, particularly William, who married Margaret Gordon in 1790, and their children.
