Re: own poems
Well, the Street Sale we were going to do
Sadly was 'rained off'
So we've still got the stuff we thought
Might earn us a few bob !
Boot Fair Sunday.....sun came out
Too hot for folk to buy
They just walked round, like in a trance
Not customers........passers by !
Today I went to the dentist
I thought I'd loose my tooth
A great chunk has broke off it
I was nervous, to tell the truth.
This tooth is right at the very front
If it came out........I'd look a witch !
Till they fixed it on my dentures
At what cost ? -cos I ain't rich
But our dentist is a good sort of chap
I said 'do the best you can
To patch it up -I don't want it out'
'OK' said this kindly man.
Without an injection he prodded about
Shoved the filling in, said 'There you are'
And forty -four pounds later
My tooth was still there.........(so far!)
Fingers crossed it stays just where it is
Hanging on by a tiny root
To keep it that way, if I have to
I'll live on a diet of soup !
Now this little verse must come to an end
It's sort of a littlle goodbye
Just for now, though I''ll pop in tomorrow
Ever so quick, to say 'Hi'
Then family arrive, baby grandson
On Thursday a year old he'll be
And what do you know it, at his age
He's got a lot more teeth than me !!
