I've been in a state of panic
Finances up the creak !
Left my nerves fraying at the edge
Biggest part of the week !
I call in at the bank to see
If something could be arranged
It could.......then I get a phone call
That left me quite deranged !!
I'd only been back half an hour
Told Bill, all was ok
Then some chap from the bank phone up
Completely spoilt my day !
I could really understand him
Call centre I expect
But he made things sound worse than they were
By now my day was wrecked !
I got myself in such a state
So Bill went to the bank
Was told we're ''not to worry
Just routine''.............he left.....said 'thanks'
Panic number two......oh dear
Spare duvet needed - quick !
My son and baby grandson due
Next week.........(heck......I feel sick !!)
Bill tried the market....nothing there
Club book delivery..........two weeks !
I just cant use the old spare one
It positively stinks !
Bedrooms - they need sorting out
So son can see the bed
And somewhere for the travelling cot
(oh..........now my aching head !!)
Panic number three.......our Street Sale
Saturday.......and we'd thought
We'd have a stall outside the house
Sell old stuff that we'd bought.
Well, can we make our minds up
Whats to go and whats to stay ?
We can't...........so Bill said 'Leave it
And decide it on Friday !
He's at work I'm out all day
I know when he gets home
He'll just not want to bother
Be left to me...........on my own !
I'll end up getting rid of stuff
I really want to keep
Or worse still, no-one will buy it
In that case - I just might weep !!
So, anyone with loads of cash
Or maybe a spare duvet
And a cleaner to sort out my house
Please...........send them up my way !!!
