All I know is that Sarah Stamp [Stamp is the surname I have here, it may have corrupted over the years] married Richard Arscott. Sarah was born on the 26th September 1779 and died on the 24th June 1856. Richard Arscott, her husband, was born on the 28th March 1779 and died on the 25th March 1849. I got as far back as Richard and have hit a dead end.
I do know that they were based in Devon, maybe around Tetcott. (I also have an address for the home of one of their grandson's homes in Blandford, Dorset.)
Sarah and Richard had 8 children [that I know of]:
- Jane Arscott, born on the 21st April 1802 and died in 1839. She married John Coles on the 19th July 1820.
- Sarah Arscott, born 18th November 1804, married William Pearman.
- Elizabeth Arscott, born 1st March 1807, married William Joca.
- John Arscott, born 1810 and died 13th June 1881. Married first Charity Melhuish on the 3rd April 1842 and then Julianna Toby on the 23rd March 1846.
- Richard Arscott, born 23rd April 1813.
- Mary Arscott, born 1816.
- Anna Arscott, born 24th January 1819.
- Charles Arscott, born 7th January 1822, died 13th March 1844. He married Charlotte Dart on 3rd September 1843.
