Sorry i missed your reply last year about the Parkinson family.I have traced back to 1168 when Elias Featherstonehaugh was born in Featherstone castle Northumberland and his Son was Ralph Featherstonehaugh born at the castle in 1200 and died 1243 in Preston,the name changed to Le Perkynson in 1335 when Perkin Featherstonehaugh called his Son John Le Perkynson and when his Son Alexander was born in 1375 he changed the name to Parkinson.Ralph Parkinson was one of his Son's born at Faisnape Bleasdale in 1415.

If you go to the reference library at your local library you should be able to borrow a book called:History of the Parkinson family of Lancashire.by Richard Ainsworth.
