Default Re: Book

Bill wondered if I was going to cook (laughing as he said it........lol) Just thought it would be interesting to see what they cooked .......and the northamptonshire one has a bit of local folk lore as well.
Mind you, dont know what to do now...........was after a book written by a chap at the history society where I was born and he's got one last copy 'Higham Ferrers and Rushden Tales'..........true stories of real people !! Sounds good. Before I found out he'd got it I tried the local book shop in a village near there and theres another one 'Astonishing tales of Northamptonshire'......................lol Plus load more the woman reeled out over the phone to me and suddenly I wanted them all..................lol

Back to the cooking though, I have got a Mrs. Beeton (pictures are nice)and several cooking/housekeeping books.........theres one that tells you how to lay the table if you're poor - tablecloth, candles, flowers from the garden etc. plus the household hints part -never read the bits on how to treat illnesses...........I'm sure half the treatments would kill you..................lol

(AKA Mary)

How beautiful it is to do nothing and rest afterwards...
